Q:Contraction of the diaphragm results in:
A oxygen release from the lungs.
B increase in lung volume.
C increase in intra-lung pressure.
D no change in air movement within the lungs.

The correct answer is B. The diaphragm is normally convex up, and a muscle becomes shorter when it contracts, so the diagphragm would become less convex when it contracts. This would increase lung volume, allowing them to expand and fill with air. D is obviously incorrect. C and A are the same thing, and since only one answer can be correct, both are eliminated.
